Heavy Lifting - The Relationship Between Creatives and Developers

The Digital Edge is a weekly podcast which focuses on the digital world and what is happening with South African businesses in this arena. Digital marketing is rapidly growing in popularity and is being used more often as a medium to reach a large audience.

Our very own Wesley Lynch was invited to be a part of the latest edition on The Digital Edge. Saul Kropman, the host of the podcast questioned Wesley about the state of the Digital world in South Africa and the challenges agencies and developers face when sharing projects. Some interesting and important points were raised and evaluated and a good time was had by all.

Check out the podcast and listen to Episode 56: Heavy Lifting and hear what Wesley has to say. We are always interested in what you think and what you have to say, so send us your thoughts and get involved in the digital debate!

We don't hear enough from the development organisations.

We also don't get the free advertising which comes hand in hand with some of these web awards being handed out to the creative agencies, pointed out via Wesley.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the free PR would be great. Perhaps we should start a techy award.

I definately think the relationships and respect between development and design guys has improved over the years.

It has (finally) been realised that without a decent design, backend is useless and vice-versa.

Any design agency not respecting a solid backend solution doesn't understand the web.

The relationship has improved, but it is still a far cry from equal. Without development and excellent functionality the creative is basically useless!

I think a proper techy award would be great, as there are some top players out there who deserve to be noticed!
