My 3 min talk at Net Prophet by Wesley Lynch | 16 May 2012 | 0 Comments
Net Prophet has introduced a new slot to their agenda. The 3 minute power presentation sessions are all about selling your idea or telling your story in 3 minutes. Entrants had to email Net Prophet and explain in fewer than 250 words why they should be one of the 6 chosen for the slots. The final 6 included Eric Edelstein, Rory Berry, Elodie Kleynhaus, Walter Pike, Don Packett and myself.
Rich Mulholland (el grande loco!) was the moderator for the 6 x 3 minute power presentation sessions at Net Prophet. The winner, selected by Net Prophet attendees and judges, won a FULL 20 minute slot at Net Prophet next year, along with 40 hours of presentation strategy & design input from Rich Mulholland and the Missing Link team. The winner also received a VIP pass to next year’s Net Prophet, and attends the Speaker Dinner. In the end Don Packett was named the winner and according to the guys at Net Prophet it was his content, style and execution that gave him the edge. So Congrats Don and I look forward to seeing you at Net Prophet 2013.
My Presentation
The title of my presentation was “This is my journey to the (not so) dark side”. I gave a brief history of my journey to becoming an entrepreneur and how we as South Africans really need to start believing in our own capabilities and in those of the businesses we run.
Explaining that investors are not evil and that we need to learn to sell and package our business correctly to receive the opportunities we believe we so rightly deserve, was not an easy task to complete in 3 minutes but somehow we all managed. I loved the concept and so did the audience, it seemed with each speaker it just became more of a challenge and this created even more excitement in the conference room.
Congratulations to Net Prophet on putting on yet another excellent conference and for always being innovative and exciting in a world that is equally so.
