Snapplify, our new mobile Startup was entered into the Cape Town Entrepreneurial Competition (CTEC) which forms part of LaunchCapeTown, the event that brings together startups, entrepreneurs, and digital tastemakers. After a tough nomination round, Snapplify was announced as one of three finalists. Finalists received two days of mentorship from local and international startup mentors and judges. Winners were announced on Sunday and Snapplify came first in Growth Stage. It was exciting to bag our first major award as winning the competition was no easy task. The team put in a lot of hard work and effort and it was such an incredibly proud moment for for everyone.
The Competition
The top ten finalists for the Cape Town Entrepreneurial Competition (CTEC) were announced on Friday night at the TechBash opening ceremony. By Saturday morning everyone had begun to feel the pressure as they presented their elevator pitches to a panel of judges and mentors. The sessions that took place during the course of the weekend were a huge help and we would like to thank all involved who spent their time mentoring and preparing us for the next rounds.
Winning
Hearing the judges declare Snapplify the winner of the Growth Stage was a seriously proud moment. There was some great talent at LaunchCT and it was great to share the moment with them. Winners of both tracks will receive a cash prizes and preparation for the Barcelona Global Entrepreneurship Competition nominations.
