Brief
In light of the recent Disney Princess campaign, Ackermans required a Facebook App to be developed for their Fan Page which allowed their fans to enter the competition. The App needed to be simple and easy for fans to use. It needed to have two main functions; one being a method that fans could enter the competition by uploading a picture and entering details as well as a gallery that displayed images of all the entrants. Entrants stood a chance to win a trip to Disneyland Paris plus 1 of 9 Disney Princess dresses.
Our Solution
We developed a Facebook App for the Ackermans Fan Page that can be accessed by fans only. Once fans land on the Disney Princess App they automatically find more information about the competition and how to enter.

Entry Form
Once fans have decided to enter the competition, they will be directed to a form where they are required to enter all their details as well as upload a picture of their child dressed as a Disney Princess. Its as simple as that.

Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions were added as a pop up. This prevented users from being redirected away from the form. When the pop up closes, users can still access the form or make any edits to their details..

Entrants Gallery
The App features an entrants gallery. All entrants and their details are displayed in this gallery for fans to see. We developed drop down functionality allowing fans to view entrants according to months.

Strategy
We developed the Ackermans Disney Princess Facebook App using Facebook Platform and incorporated some custom functionality, which was specific to the client's requirements. This Facebook application is also being content managed through Facebook Platform.
This project was a collaboration between Ninety9cents and New Media Publishing. We had a number of meetings with the client, advising them on best practices throughout the development process.
