Exclus1ves needed to expand their marketing campaigns by syndicating their product content. They required more 3rd party users to market their products and use the Exclus1ves branding on their website. The goal was for their products to become viral. The easiest way to execute this campaign was for 3rd party users to make use of an Exclus1ves widget on their websites or blogs.

Some of the websites making use of the Exclus1ves product widget are Books Live and Tops and Tales.

Tops and Tales is an online book club which is a collaboration between Spar and Exclus1ves. The products and search widgets allow users to search for the books they are currently reading as well as view books others are reading. If users are interested in purchasing a certain book then they will be directed to the Exclus1ves website to make a purchase.

Books Live is the internet newspaper for South African books. The Exclus1ves product widget is being used in various ways. Book reviews contain the product widget and displays the specific book being reviewed. Users can then click on the book which directs them to the Exclus1ves website in order for them to make a purchase.

Strategy

The embedding of widgets has become easier for 3rd party users to implement. With social widgets such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook increasing at such a rapid rate, Exclus1ves wanted to make sure their product widgets were simple and easy for any 3rd party blogger or newspaper to embed on their website.
