Brief

Exclus1ves wanted a fully functional e-commerce site. The aim was to leverage the existing brand equity and expand the brand perception to include non-book products, like CD's, DVD's, games, e-books, and audio books. There was also importance placed on promoting the Fanatics loyalty program. This is what the client wanted:

 ·          New Product Types

Offer a broader range of products, like books, CD’s, games, DVD’s; as well as e-books and audio books, which were never sold before.

 ·         Enlarging Product Catalogue Size

Increase the size of the product catalogue to include more local and international products. To offer the most comprehensive product catalogue possible.

 ·         Leverage Offline Stores

The online store should be an extension of the retail outlets. Staff must be able to promote products and drive sales for the full online product catalogue.

 ·         Fanatics Loyalty Program

Fanatics members must be able to update and extend their portfolios as well as earn and spend loyalty points, both online and offline. To increase fanatics loyalty program adoption.

 ·         Increase Foreign Market Share

Increase the sale and distribution of both physical and digital products to customers outside of South Africa.

 ·         Increase Online Revenue

 Increase traffic and improve e-commerce conversion in order to increase revenue.

 ·         Produce Non-Book Revenue

Promote non-book products in order to generate new non-book revenue.

Our Solution

Exclus1ves now offers a full range of products, including books, CD's, DVD's, games, and e-books. The product catalogue has increased to offer an additional 3 million products.

Fanatics members are now able to update and extend their portfolios as well as earn and spend loyalty points, both online and offline. There has been a significant increase in Fanatics loyalty enrolment. Customers are now able to collect their online orders at retail outlets.

Not only has Exclus1ves' online revenue increased substantially, but both international traffic and sales have increased as well. Non-book revenue represents a substantial portion of total online revenue and continues to increase.

Strategy

Realmdigital developed the Exclus1ves website on the enterprise version of Platform, and incorporated custom functionality that was specific to the client's requirements.

Realmdigital had a number of workshops with the client, advising them on best practices throughout the development process.
