Brief
Wilderness Safaris is a niche company that operates camps and safaris in Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the Seychelles. It is run by a group of like-minded wildlife enthusiasts who came together to build a successful safari business, while ensuring that Southern Africa's pristine wilderness areas remain sustainably protected. They required an iPad application that displayed all their luxury camps, services, multimedia, etc.
Our Solution
Gloo supplied us with all designs and were responsible for the creative aspect of this project. We provided Wilderness Safari’s with a fresh and cutting edge iPad application. The application displayed all camps. Each camp had a camp gallery as well as camp detail. The gallery contained dozens of pictures taken by Wilderness staff as well as guests, whereas the camp detail contained all details pertaining to the camp.
The news tab syndicated all Wilderness news articles. The articles were categorised and contained images as well.
Wilderness required a “meet the team” section too. The "people" gallery listed all Wilderness staff as well as information about them.
The Wilderness map showed all Wilderness camps on a map. When one clicks on a camp, the user will then be redirected to the actual camp.
Strategy
The project was a joint collaboration between Gloo and Realm. Gloo was responsible for all the creative strategy, design, and also provided us with ideas for the application. We handled all the actual iPad development. The application is being managed using Mobile Platform, a content management system that is an installation of Realm Platform. All parties involved met with the client on a regular basis, ensuring all needs were satisfied, and advised them on the best methods forward.
